でもそうか、逆にやりたい事が不明確な人は大学ランクが全てだから、浪人してでもいい大学、ともなるのか。明確な人で滑り止め大学に興味に合う研究室があればそれでもいいし。

理系（とくに研究者志望の人）は、出身大学よりも出身研究室の方が最終的に重要になります。
